Kysse

Restylane Kysse is a hyaluronic acid filler used to enhance lip volume while minimizing fine lines around the mouth. The dermal filler provides a natural look while helping improve texture and lip color. As a result, patients who receive Kysse injections maintain natural-looking expressions without looking like the cosmetic treatment was overdone.

Treatment

Kysse treatment involves a series of injections using a fine syringe. A medical professional trained and experienced in dermal fillers can administer injections right in their office. Treatment is completed within 15 to 30 minutes and results last up to one year post-treatment.

Results

Kysse helps the lips appear fuller and more youthful. In addition, the dermal filler adds volume to the lips, creating a plumping effect, smoothing away fine lip lines. Kysse is FDA-approved to enhance lips and provide lip augmentation treatment.

Treatment Area

Kysse is a dermal filler approved for use in treating the lips. The filler helps correct lip lines, enhance the lip’s shape and structure, and improve the corners of the mouth. The FDA does not approve these injections to treat any other facial areas.

Pain

The lips are one of the most sensitive places on the face to be treated with dermal fillers. Experienced dermatologists understand this and do everything possible to minimize discomfort during the Kysse treatment. Each injection includes lidocaine, which helps numb the treatment area, decreasing pain. The lidocaine, along with a topical numbing treatment and an ice pack, most claim Kysse injections are tolerable.

Post-Treatment

There is no downtime required for patients receiving Kysse injection treatment. Many return to work and resume normal daily activities immediately after receiving the injections. Patients should not wear lipstick or lip balm for up to 45 minutes after treatment to reduce the risk of infection. Some patients experience slight bruising and swelling the injection site, but these side effects diminish within a few days.

Side Effects

Most patients receiving Kysse for lip augmentation generally experience no side effects following treatment. Side effects are possible after treatment; however, they are typically mild. The most common side effects include bruising and swelling at the injection site. Other side effects associated with receiving dermal filler injections include pain or soreness near the injection site. More severe complications may include allergic reactions, vessel compromise, blindness, or stroke. These are rare but possible, and those experiencing more severe side effects must immediately seek medical treatment.

Cost

Costs to receive Kysse treatment range by the amount of lip restoration is needed and desired. Prices range from $700 to $1000 per syringe and vary based on the dermatologist’s fees. Other factors affecting the cost include geographic location, the number of injections, and the need for follow-up and maintenance injections.

Frequently Asked Questions

When you have younger skin, it was smooth and elastic. Much of this elasticity is a result of the hyaluronic acid in your skin, which makes the skin look healthy. Hyaluronic acid has a structured sort of like jello after it has set. However, as your skin ages, it loses the ability to produce this elastic material that keeps it looking young. Instead, your firm set jello starts to melt a bit. Another part of hyaluronic acid’s job is to bind water molecules inside the skin. This means that as your skin ages, it also becomes less able to hold water. The result is that your skin dries out, becomes thinner, and most importantly, can’t bring back its elastic texture. This lessening of your skin thickness also results in looser skin, which is the cause of wrinkling – and that aging appearance.

In the past few years, there have been several breakthroughs in research that now allow us to replace the hyaluronic acid in our skin. The same substance that is found in young skin is now made in a lab and can be stabilized so that its results will last longer. It is called “NASHA gel” for short – Non-Animal Derived Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid – a biodegradable gel. We are now able to replace what our skin has lost through aging in one quick office procedure – a completely non-surgical treatment.

One brand of hyaluronic acid, created by Galderma Company, is called Restylane, a “dermal filler.” When this dermal filler is injected into the soft tissue of your face, it restores the skin’s structure and hydration adds volume and gives it a more youthful, healthy appearance. Restylane is most useful being injected into places where the body’s natural skin structures have been broken down. This means that depressions in the skin – wrinkles – can be leveled out to match the rest of your facial skin. This effectively smooths out facial lines and even most scars, with a very natural look. Not only that, but the skin’s texture becomes softer, more elastic, and much more evenly toned.

You and our specialist will decide on the best course of treatment. Restylane will be injected straight into your skin in very small doses. The needle is extremely fine, and lidocaine in the serum ensures that there will be almost no discomfort. The whole procedure is quick and simple, and you will be able to see your results almost right away.

A single treatment of Restylane will fill any depression on the surface of your skin, and make your complexion look more youthful. These results will last for up to 9 months, but with a timed series of injections, can be extended up to 18 months.

The most common areas for Restylane to be used are:

  • Between your eyebrows
  • “Laugh Lines” (nasolabial fold), for a non-surgical nose job
  • The skin surrounding the mouth
  • The edge of the lip – helps define it
  • The skin on the jawline, for a non-surgical jowl lift.
  • Lip Enhancement: Get fuller lips, especially if your lips were thin, to begin with.
