Radiesse / Radiesse +

Lift and Define Your Appearance

RADIESSE / RADIESSE +

Radiesse / Radiesse + are injectable cosmetic skin treatments used to fill areas of the face and hands. The injections help stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, helping to fill in wrinkles and boost new collagen within the skin. These injections treat wrinkles and folds around the nose and mouth and areas where fat tissue has been lost on the face. Additionally, Radiesse / Radiesse + is used on the backs of hands to restore lost volume.

Treatment

Radiesse / Radiesse + uses calcium hydroxyapatite gel microsphere in the injection, which works immediately upon being injected into the skin. Results may not be immediately visible; however, as time goes on, the injection contents naturally boost the body’s collagen production, allowing the skin to develop more natural filler. In addition, since the injections contain chemicals that naturally occur in the body, eventually, they are absorbed into the body, leaving newly produced collagen.

Target Areas

Most patients who receive Radiesse treatments are between the age of 35 and 60 because they seek to reduce the signs of aging on the face. Radiesse injections help treat signs of aging around the nose and mouth, helping restore a youthful appearance. Radiesse also helps fill in lost volume in the back of the hands. In some cases, these dermal injections help fill in deep scars.

Procedure

During the consultation, the doctor will determine Radiesse / Radiesse + is the best product for the patient’s needs. During this time, they also determine how many injections are needed to achieve desired results.

While using local anesthesia, the doctor injects Radiesse into the desired treatment area. At first, there may be a slight pain, but the injection has FDA-approved lidocaine in it to help ease discomfort. The procedure takes about 15 minutes, depending on the number of injections needed. Once completed, patients can go about their day without little to no downtime.

Cost

As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost varies depending upon many factors. Most Radiesse treatments cost between $650 and $800 per syringe needed in the procedure. Factors affecting the overall treatment cost include location, the experience of the doctor, doctor’s fees, and the number of treatments/injections needed. Speak with the doctor during the consultation to determine an estimate as to how much the total treatment costs.

As an elective cosmetic procedure, health insurance does not cover Radiesse injections. Speak with the doctor about payment and financing options.

Side Effects

Though minimal, some patients have reported side effects from receiving Radiesse injections. The most common side effects reported include swelling, itching, pain, redness, and bruising in and around the injection site. Some other side effects reported include difficulty with movement, loss of sensitivity, allergic reactions, lumps, and nodules.

More severe complications associated with Radiesse injections are rare and may include scabbing, scarring, stroke, abnormal vision, and severe pain. Those experiencing more severe side effects must seek immediate medical attention.
